New Mailboxes Are Coming

Old Mailboxes Held Together with Zip Ties

Yes, it's true.  Creekside is finally getting new mailboxes.  Ours are well past their useful life, ugly, out of date and coming apart.

We were able to negotiate a significant cost reduction due to the size of our order and the manufacturer wanting a boost to their year-end sales.  Additionally, all will be installed by BOD members.  We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to help lift the pedestals onto the mounting bolts.  We anticipate this will happen on Sunday, January 18th (see Calendar).  If you can help, contact Dick or Norm for details.

The new boxes will have many significant improvements over what we have now:
  • Each will hold legal size envelopes flat
  • We are reducing the number of pedestals from nine to five
  • We will have nine parcel boxes with spring doors instead of five
  • Resident boxes will be numbered 1-76 eliminating duplicated numbers
  • All pedestals will be 100% aluminum with sandstone powder coating; no more rust
Strategy for Installation and Key Distribution

The pedestals will arrive the week of January 13th.  It is our intention to install all pedestals Saturday and Sunday, January 18th and 19th.  Note:
  • Residents need to empty their mailboxes late Friday afternoon January 17th
  • There will be no Saturday mail delivery January 18th
  • Saturday mail and mail left in boxes will be delivered by USPS on Monday January 20th
  • Your new box number is listed on the document linked here
The manufacturer will provide unique keys for each mail box.  Two keys will be provided to each owner on Friday, January 17th.  Pick up your keys in person as follows:
  • H Avenue boxes from Dick Walsh, 1813 Place, 9 am to 12 pm
  • Circle boxes from Craig Illman, 2104 Circle, 1 pm to 4 pm
  • D Avenue keys from Norm Culbert, 1813 Lane, 9 am to 12 pm
Non-resident owners need to email written directions to Dick or Norm for how they want their keys handled.  Please call either Dick Walsh or Norm Culbert to discuss further.

Local owners, please do not attempt to open your new box until installation of pedestals is completed at your location.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact either Dick or Norm.
